Dec'2019: Beetlejuice on Broadway (for NumberThree)

Jul'2019: Be More Chill on Broadway (for NumberThree)

Oct'2017: Trombone Shorty: wow very different from albums. Much more like a loud live soul revue. Swung between super-loud-rock-wall-of-sound and long jazz solos. Excellent.

Dec16'2016: Hamilton performance on Broadway (Alexander Hamilton) (Javier Muñoz, Brandon Victor Dixon, Rory O'Malley)

Jul'2016: Lyle Lovett again, at Ravinia (for kids)

Feb'2015: Big Bad Voodoo Daddy again: in Crystal Lake Il

Jun'2014: Flying Bach: Dance Crew FlyingSteps performs over Js Bach's Well Tempered Clavier (hmm, I feel like Art Of The Fugue would have worked better). Pretty cool.

Dirty Dozen Brass Band 2003-07-07-DirtyDozenThisWeek

Mingus Big Band at Fez under Time Cafe (Charles Mingus)

Stomp: highly recommended

Ed Palermo Big Band doing Frank Zappa covers

Blue Man Group: should have seen it a decade earlier, given that it's a couple blocks from home. It was still good, but time made it less Subversive.

(various fun kids shows at the New Victory Theater)

1999: Eurythmics reunion

1998: Three Baritone Saxophone Band at (TriBeCa) Knitting Factory

1995+: Cirque Du Soleil: loved Alegria, less impressed by a later show, even less impressed by the prices. Hated Wintuk.

1995: Full Gallop one-woman-show about Diana Vreeland starring (and co-written by) Mary Louise Wilson (who I'd known as the call-girl in One Day At A Time). Fabulous!

Laurie Anderson: more of a lecture with video. Lou Reed in the audience.

Tinseltown Rebellion: Frank Zappa cover band, at the Wetlands in NYC.

Lyle Lovette: twice

c1993: K D Lang at Radio City (Ingenue tour): fabulous, her albums are seriously under-produced.

1993? Le Cirque Invisible by Victoria Chaplin (son of Charlie) At the Union Square Theater, 100 East 17th Street

c1992: Negativland at (Houston St) Knitting Factory. Burning toast as smoke machine!

1992: Zimmerman's Metamorphoses at Circle in the Square

1991: Microscopic Septet: free at shell behind Lincoln Center

1991: Othello for Shakespeare in the Park, starring Christopher Walken and Raul Julia.

c1991: Six Degrees Of Separation on Broadway (I think Adrian Lester was playing "Paul").

1989: M. Butteryfly - post BD Wong but still John Lithgow

c1988: Tod Machover VALIS somewhere uptown-ish (Symphony Space? further up near Columbia?) (It's also possible it was HyperInstruments instead of VALIS, and a couple years later...)

B. B. King

c1985: Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Wavery Theatre (no i didn't wear a costume)

1981: Genesis, in Syracuse Ny

1979: Oregon, at Carnegie Hall (opening: Sun Ra solo piano; Carla Bley band (which I remember mainly for "I'm a Mineralist": Erik Satie gets my rocks off, Cage is a dream; Phillip Glass is Mineralist to the extreme). Being young/naive, we went without ordering tickets in advance. As we got to the front door, someone came up and said "you need tickets? I can't stay for the concert, I'll sell these at face value". Being young/naive, I said sure. They turned out to be the best seats in the house: center box, and since we got there first we took the 2 front seats!

1978: Maynard Ferguson at Nyc Town Hall

1977: Woody Herman (he was 64yo) in Newark Symphony Hall

(earlier stuff, mostly classical, when I was a kid; didn't request, don't remember)
