Net Neutrality

Discussion about whether Broad Band providers can/should provide different Quality Of Service/Qo S to different types of applications (data transfer vs VoIP/Video, etc.)

  • the concern of many is that this is just an excuse to add more forms of tolls

  • is this the same as Common Carrier rules?

How does this relate to the Stupid Network/OpenNet concept?

Robert X Cringley sees the carrier's lobbying as targeted mainly at VoIP.

Tom Evslin thinks we're better off enforcing Anti-Trust regulations to increase competition.

  • he [also](http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/Fractals Of Change/~3/9778091/reader_comment__1.html) notes his own experience on supporting VoIP over the Stupid Network (and makes other responses to a TelCo commenter).
