Ideaverse

PKM/ThinkingSpace framing by Nick Milo - does this "replace" LinkingYourThinking?

Aug'2023: releasing his Ideaverse download for Obsidian https://www.producthunt.com/posts/ideaverse-for-obsidian

Aug30

  • download, unzip. Put in my ~/personal/obsidian/ directory
  • If ARC (Add, Relate, Communicate) has the power to supercharge our PKM, ideation, and creativity... ACE (Atlas for Knowledge, Calendar for Time, Efforts for Action) ("3 headspaces") has the power to rewrite the way we understand knowledge management.
    • ACE are the 3 tabs in the left pane (where you'll also see Home and "Ideaverse Map"

Oct04: lesson 1 (video)

Oct04: lesson 2 - ACE - "folder system"

  • Atlas: Knowledge (understand)
  • Calendar: Time (focus)
  • Efforts: Action (act) (not projects) (4 intensities: On, Ongoing, Simmering, Sleeping)
  • (see also OODA, though ACE isn't modeled as a cycle)
  • flexible: can add layers of subfolders under each, if you want

Oct04: lesson 3: ACE for Links, in your Home note

  • ARC
  • Add - inbox, chrono of newest stuff you added so you can find it when half-baked
    • cmd-m -> Move to another folder
  • Relate

Oct04: lesson 4 - Efforts

  • Efforts vs Projects (and GTD): Efforts are more bottom-up/emergent, because life is often messy/unpredictable/undefined
  • each Effort has a Rank, sorts within each intensity
  • helps allocate time/energy: try to cap the On list? (WIP)
  • a sub-Effort can be at the top-level of another Intensity
